I try not to share my political beliefs as our country is unfortunately so divided that there is an inherent fear of the loss of friends and acquaintances. But to be fair, this is far beyond normal politics, this is fascism at its finest and enough is enough. I will stand on the right side of history. I will speak up to defend the marginalized and the oppressed. I will defend democracy. This isn't blue versus red, it's blue and red versus tyranny.

I could rattle off the countless reasons Trump is unfit to be president, but let's just focus on those that have hit home the most recently.

Born and raised in a suburb just north of Los Angeles, it's appalling to see the chaos he's ignited for his own gain. Sending masked and badge-less ICE agents to raid neighborhoods and tear families apart is heartbreaking. Presidents Obama and Biden deported millions, but in a more humane way. Sending in the national guard and marines to stand against their fellow Americans is a waste of these brave soldiers' time and abuse of our tax dollars. As is his unnecessary, extravagant birthday military parade. And waging war on universities and journalists who don't support his narrative is flat-out unconstitutional. It's first amendment 101.

I support all those who peacefully march to amplify their voices to evoke change. Are there unfortunately fire starters who are going to join protests just to cause a scene by damaging property and hurting others? Yes. Was it out of control in a way that the U.S. Military had to step in? No.

Many theorize that this was all smoke and mirrors to distract us from Trump being accused of being in the Epstein files, the sharp price increases we are seeing due to his tariffs, and his very public breakup with Elon Musk. I wouldn't put it past him. Evil incarnate.

Speaking of evil, let's talk about his big beautiful ridiculous bill and how it restricts access to health care and mental health services. That means more homelessness, more mass shootings, less treatment for comorbidities resulting in earlier deaths - all increasing human suffering throughout America. Not to mention how it will greatly increase our national debt.

Additionally, to put Robert F. Kennedy, a known vaccine skeptic, in charge of our health care is beyond mind-blowing. Get ready to catch some Oregon Trail-era disease, because he just fired medical experts on the National Vaccine Advisory Committee and replaced them with unqualified anti-vaccine activists like himself. I have sons who I'd love to see grow up healthy and strong. Our children deserve to live lives free from once-eradicated diseases and we cannot let RFK, or any other extremist, get in the way of that.

Finally, the anti-woke movement needs to be stopped in its tracks. You would be morally corrupt to challenge me on this - I'm looking at you Moms for Liberty. Someone recently said, "Saying you're anti-woke is a whole lot quicker than saying you're a selfish and fearful human being who is terrified of diversity, hostile to progress, and wants no one else to have the rights, representation, love or opportunity you have." Let's all open our hearts and unnecessarily stop trying to strip people of their happiness and belonging.

Did you know that in the field of psychology they are studying MAGA as a cult? Yes, a cult. I will not be called Offred, nor will I don the white bonnet and red robe. It's unfathomable that reality is starting to mirror dystopian fiction. For those who still support Trump, please open your eyes to what is happening in our country and to the people who call America home. It's OK to be republican and to still oppose the tyranny taking place right now. We are being "led" by a delusional, lying, narcissistic, power-hungry, wannabe dictator who is ruining lives, not to mention our country's reputation. The growing list of countries that have travel advisories to the U.S. is quite alarming.

The most comical Trump antic yet, is when he brazenly declared that he was sent from God. Well, if he was, it was to test us. To test how humanity responds to a threat to their freedoms and basic rights. If he was in fact sent from God, then millions of us have also been sent to earth to stop him. If we're silent, we're complicit - we must fight back. We will NOT bow down to a false king. Not now, not ever.

Honestly, I have not felt proud to be an American since January 20th. Today, that all changed. Seeing the millions of people protesting across our nation reminds me that good will trump evil. That justice will prevail. And that America will one day be great again.
